Tomato soup with rice

Tomato soup with rice is one of the simplest and tastiest soups. It can be made in any season, but summer and autumn, with fresh and sweet tomatoes, garden… is something of a dream. It's so good that I always get complaints from my family that I do too little.

  • 1 kg of well-ripened tomatoes or 2 cans of tomatoes (250g)
  • 50 g of rice
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 onions
  • 200 g celery root
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 piece parsley or parsley root
  • 2-3 tablespoons of oil
  • lovage, preferably fresh
  • salt


  1. All vegetables are cleaned, washed and cut into pieces.
  2. Heat the oil in the pot and add the chopped vegetables and let them harden until soft.
  3. Add a little water. That way the vegetables don't burn.
  4. After the vegetables have hardened, add the tomatoes (if we use fresh tomatoes, clean them and put them in a blender.
  5. Add 1 liter and a half of water and let it boil.
  6. Once it starts to boil, add the washed rice.
  7. When the rice is cooked, add the larch and turn off the heat.
